After working for many years as an assistant director, casting director, and script supervisor, Roxanne Peguet ventured into writing and directing her own films. Her first short films, Nucléaire (2022) and Phoenix (2024), were both nominated for the Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis in the Best Short Film category.
Since then, she has directed Mia Mio (2025), which premiered at the Luxembourg City Film Festival. TABLE 12 is her fourth short film, supported by the Film Fund Luxembourg.
TABLE 12 was born from Roxanne Peguet’s desire to tell the story of an expatriate through a single location and a continuous shot. Deeply attached to the Grund neighborhood in Luxembourg City, where she lived for several years, she wanted to capture the emotional evolution and key moments in Konstantin’s life. The goal was not to romanticize his experience but to depict the highs and lows of a newcomer gradually finding his place on the terrace across the street.
Finally, Roxanne Peguet sought to create a contrast between what we see and the story told by the young boy, playing with his childlike naivety to add depth to the narrative.
