Annoa Verbruggen was born in Brussels. Graduated as an editor and scriptwriter from IAD in 2019. She is the editor of the short film Souvenirs de la lune (Memories of the Moon) which won a double award at the 40th edition of BIFFF. She is directing Mauvais Ange (Fallen Angel) as a result of a feeling of helplessness that was exacerbated during the lockdown. In parallel to her work as an editor and director, she is pursuing studies in social ecology. She wishes to participate in making the film industry eco-responsible.
During the lockdown, Annoa felt powerless. She transcribed the lyrics of William Sheller's songs (Mon Hôtel, Loulou and Machines absurdes) and mixed them with fragments of her nightmares to write a story. Greatly inspired by the cinema of David Lynch and The Double by Richard Ayoade, Mauvais Ange (Fallen Angel) was born.
We were conquered by the surreal proposal of this inexplicable nightmare that Maurice lives. Annoa Verbruggen tells us a story with multiple interpretations leaving an indelible impact on our perception of isolation and loneliness.
