Why we love it

IF THE MOON is an organic and metaphorical work exploring anguish, anxiety, and solitude. We deeply admire Ulysse's work, a self-taught animation filmmaker whose talent and sincerity have allowed him to create a sensitive and impressive piece for a first film.

About the director

Ulysse has always loved telling stories, especially through drawings.

After studying Applied Arts in high school, he pursued a degree in Graphic Design with a focus on Digital Media at École Estienne in Paris. During this time, he completed an internship at the Belgian animation studio ZOROBABEL, where he learned the technical foundations of animated filmmaking. He then continued his training with a professional program in Motion and Sound Design, combining coursework with hands-on experience at Cergy-Pontoise University.

Although he had no prior experience in filmmaking, he decided after his studies to pursue what he had always dreamed of: creating an animated short film.

After four years of work, his first film, IF THE MOON has finally come to life.
